Le Coq Sportif finds its origins in 1882 in Troyes, a French region synonymous with the very finest in hoisery craftsmanship. During the firsthalf of the 19th century one of these craftsmen, Emile Camuset, combined his dual passions for hoisery and sport to create the tricolore brand. Applying his drive and expertise he led it it to become the leader in sports apparel and first choice of all sportsmen. Then based in Romilly, this passion, and sincerity to the craftsman exacting values brought the brand to the pinacle of world sporting excellence: the Tour de France for more than 40 years; the legendary World Cup winning Argentina Football team of 1986; tennis star and cultural icon Yannick Noah; and most notably equipping and outfitting the everyday sportsman.

LE COQ SPORTIF took inspiration from these aspects to create its best seller…the DEAUVILLE. The idea was to bring elegant treatments, French touch and style to a classic and timeless vulcanized silhouette.
