In 1966, the Van Doren Rubber Company opened up for business in Anaheim, California. Vans' simple canvas shoes soon became a staple at the beach and throughout Orange County.
In the mid-70s, the first skateboard-specific shoe, the Era, was born. Within a few years, the Vans side stripe first adorned the Old Skool and the Sk8-Hi came to represent a look that still epitomizes the surf and skate scene.
Today Van's create new versions of the earliest Van's "Classics" with original and updated designs each season. With a strong heritage in an action sports, Vans prides itself in being grounded in youth, authenticity and individual style.
